Direct driven motor is strong, robust, and can be fitted with three different standard flanges, IEC, NEMA and AC (Atlas Copco standard). Choose the size that match the application need and then select the flange that makes the easiest installation. In addition we have one size that is made of Stainless Steel for applications with tough/harsh environments where extra corrosion protection is needed. The running characteristics of this motor type is strong starting torque and very good low speed performance. For applications such as mixers there are versions with spring loaded vane pins to ensure even better starting and low speed performance. The shaft design, with strong bearings allows the motor to be mounted directly on to the drive shaft without the need of extra shaft support that commonly is needed with other motor designs. The lubrication free vanes enables the motor to operate in demanding environments that doesn’t allow oil to be in the air/process. All motors are ATEX certified to allow operations in areas where gas or dust are expected. Depending on the application do select the motor that match the ATEX demands.

LZB vane motors are designed to provide high performance and high standards of reliability.
The design of the motor is long and slim. This gives a number of advantages, such as high power-to-volume ratio, low air consumption and long vane life. All motors utilize five vanes, which are supplied with vane air, to ensure excellent starting and low speed performance. Multi-step planetary gears are used to meet the torque and speed requirements of the application, offering high efficiency with compact dimensions.
Shaft Loading:
The maximum allowable loads on a given motor´s output shaft. The relevant load curve code for a motor is stated in the data tables for each specific motor designation, under the ”Shaft load code” column. These values have been calculated for shaft and bearing working lives of 10 million turns. To achieve a working life of 100 million turns, the loading factor must be halved.
Mounting:
Type LZB vane motors may be mounted in any position. To facilitate this, flange and foot mounting are available for each motor.
Connection:
- Non-reversible motor When the compressed air supply is connected to the inlet. If the exhaust air is to be piped away, a hose should be connected to the exhaust outlet. (EXH).
- Reversible motor The compressed air supply should be connected to the inlet that gives the desired direction of rotation. The inlet not in use functions as an additional outlet: it must not be plugged.

When the motor is started the brake is released by a built-in pneumatic piston. The noise generated by an air motor is mainly caused by the exhaust air of the motor. The noise level increases with speed and is greatest at the free speed. All Atlas Copco motors are supplied with a threaded exhaust port which, to reduce noise levels, can accept a screw in silencer. Direct driven motor is strong, robust, and can be fitted with three different standard flanges, IEC, NEMA and AC (Atlas Copco standard). Choose the size that match the application need and then select the flange that makes the easiest installation. In addition we have one size that is made of Stainless Steel for applications with tough/harsh environments where extra corrosion protection is needed. The running characteristics of this motor type is strong starting torque and very good low speed performance. For applications such as mixers there are versions with spring loaded vane pins to ensure even better starting and low speed performance. The shaft design, with strong bearings allows the motor to be mounted directly on to the drive shaft without the need of extra shaft support that commonly is needed with other motor designs. The lubrication free vanes enables the motor to operate in demanding environments that doesn’t allow oil to be in the air/process. All motors are ATEX certified to allow operations in areas where gas or dust are expected. Depending on the application do select the motor that match the ATEX demands.
